Darren Tantau

Darren started his career working as a carpenter in West Auckland, progressing to Foreman and Construction Manager. Darren joined the Scope team in 2009 and is highly experienced with over 36 years of construction industry experience. Darren’s extensive knowledge of building practices within the industry, his vast knowledge of Ministry of Education processes and requirements for their (MOE) property portfolio are extremely valuable attributes – attributes that one cannot gain from a university degree.

Darren manages our vast Education portfolio where his skillset excels. He has built strong working relationships with the Ministry of Education, School Principals and Main Contractors – a vital component to client side Project Management.

Darren recognises the potential and value our junior staff offer to Scope and has mentored many over recent years and continues to do so. His contribution to Scope is extremely valued and his sheer determination to ensure that all stakeholders in a project work collaboratively together to provide an end product that the client can be proud of is paramount to Darren’s success as one of our valued project managers’. Darren has had projects nominated in the New Zealand Industry of Building (NZIOB) Awards over the years and most recently was a finalist in the 2021 NZIOB Awards for the Tauraroa Area School Gymnasium.
