Ameer is a Chartered Professional Engineer with nearly 20 years’ experience delivering major infrastructure projects and programmes across New Zealand, spanning highways, rail, airports, cycleways and public transport. He joined Scope Projects in 2026 after nine years in senior delivery roles at NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, most recently as Regional Portfolio Manager for Auckland and Northland, overseeing a portfolio worth more than $1 billion a year.

Ameer has worked on both sides of the contract, starting his career as an Engineer’s Representative on live civil, rail and airport sites. As a client-side leader, he took the fast-tracked $80m+ SH20B project from business case to opening, steering it through complex commercial negotiations and COVID-19 disruptions. It opened on time and under budget and won several 2022 industry awards. As Programme Director, he led three national programmes worth more than $500m combined.
